The surplus electricity produces by solar will be transferred to Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). The community street lights and other public spaces will be powered by solar energy. The other sustainable objectives undertaken by the project include 55 percent reduction in the carbon footprint and 25 percent reduction in the potable water demand.
Lagoon
The centre piece of The community is their 70,000 square metre swimmable Crystal Lagoon, complete with 400 metres of beachfront and 1.5km of walk-able waterfront. The lagoon will give its residents a resort style experience and also facilitate water sport activities.
